My Thoughts
I am blessed! My life has evolved into a dream. I owe everything I am and everything I have to the Lord.
Ten years ago I was swept into the world of accounting and am very grateful for it. This field has prepared me to follow my dream of being a photographer. There is much more to running a photography business, then showing up and taking photos (although this is my favorite part). I understand the stresses of keeping within the budget, but still receiving quality work.
When shooting an event I am constantly aware of my surroundings and always looking for another picture. I love to incorporate a modern artistic feel to my photos, maybe just changing up the angle slightly to create a totally different look. I have been known to lie on the ground, stand in chairs, crawl...whatever it takes to complete my vision. I am a huge fan of candids. These are the moments when true emotions show and it is amazing when you look back over the photos, how people can recall the exact thoughts that were going through their minds at that time.
I live the events through my lens, capturing the face of the groom who has just seen his bride for the first time, the grandmother who has tears rolling down her face from the joy she feels watching her grandchild take his/her vows, and the flower girl who plops down in the middle of the ceremony and takes off her shoes.
I truly believe in the institution of marriage and often get swept away be the moments of watching others make this commitment. I may tear up during vows or laugh out loud when cake is smashed...I will be there to capture these times and create a keepsake for the bride and groom.
Photography is more than taking a picture of a moment. Its capturing that moment in time forever; the thoughts, the emotions, the tears, the laughter....it's remembering what it felt like to be there.
